Facility Info: The plant's production lines provide products and services to customers in the household, food, automotive, industrial, paint, insecticide and personal care markets. The plant's capabilities include aerosol, oblong and round cans and ends in a variety of sizes, 2-, 4- and 6- color lithography and coatings.
The building also houses Ball's aerosol and specialty technology center and the support services of engineering, quality, purchasing, credit sales, supply chain, customer service, HR and executive.
History: Ball's Elgin plant was acquired in 2006 with the acquisition of U.S. Can Company's facilities in North and South America.
Travel Info: Visitors fly into Chicago O'Hare International Airport and rent a car to drive to the plant, approximately 40 minutes away.
Directions:
-Take I-190 East to I-90 West (within a mile of entrance to I-190)
-Take 90W toward Rockford for approximately 19 miles to Route 59
-Take 59 South (left approximately 5 miles) to West Bartlett Road
-Go right on West Bartlett for approximately 2 miles
-The plant is located at the corner of West Bartlett and Gifford Roads
